Day Care Coordinator

Location: Hudson, NY
Pay Rate: $20.00 per hour
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:30am - 4:30pm with 1-hour unpaid lunch
Position Summary:
The Day Care Program Assistant is responsible for supporting the planning, organization, and implementation of developmental and educational activities for children during day care services. This position works closely with the classroom teacher to assist in lesson implementation, child supervision, and daily routines while maintaining a safe and supportive environment. The role also includes coordinating daycare services during designated hours and serving as a positive role model for the children.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain positive, supportive relationships with all children, implementing behavior plans as needed and consulting with the teacher or management when concerns arise.
Ensure the health and safety of all children through appropriate supervision and reporting of potential risks.
Assist the teacher in implementing instructional activities based on lesson plans and children's Individual Education Plans (IEPs).
Organize, prepare, clean, and store classroom and daycare materials in coordination with the teacher.
Coordinate daycare services during program hours, including activity planning, staff leadership, and communication with parents.
Provide supervision and assistance with daily activities such as toileting, eating, dressing, and recreation.
Remain flexible with classroom and daycare assignments to meet daily supervision needs.
Collaborate effectively with teachers, clinicians, and other program staff to meet children's developmental goals.
Participate in required staff meetings, treatment team meetings, and trainings as required by the Agency or regulatory bodies.
Qualifications:
Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience: Minimum of two years of experience working with children required. Experience with preschool-aged or special education children and/or experience leading daycare groups preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
